At this point, I am not surprised by Trump’s decision.
While I was very critical of Trump’s pursuit of Obama’s birth certificate from the outset he did score points with it and forced Obama’s hand.
But Trump’s triumph would be shortlived. His first mistake was to deliver a speech laden with f-bombs. This country is not ready for the President of the United States to begin an Oval Office address with, “My fellow Americans, f#*k you.”
Then the wind was completely knocked out of Trump’s sails once Osama bin Laden was captured. It made Trump’s efforts with regard to Obama’s birth certificate look petty and stupid.
All in all, I am glad to see that Donald Trump has rejoined the circus.
