The 2014 MLB post-season gets underway tomorrow with the AL Wild Card matchup between the Oakland A’s and Kansas City Royals. Without further adieu, here are my post-season predictions for 2014:
AMERICAN LEAGUE
AL Wild Card – Oakland A’s vs. Kansas City Royals
Winner: Royals
ALDS #1 (Best 3 out of 5) – Kansas City Royals vs. Los Angeles Angels
Winner: Angels in four
ALDS #2 (Best 3 out of 5) – Detroit Tigers vs. Baltimore Orioles
Winner: Orioles in four
ALCS (Best 4 out 7) – Baltimore Orioles vs. Los Angeles Angels
Winner: Orioles in five
ALCS MVP: Steve Pearce, Baltimore Orioles
NATIONAL LEAGUE
NL Wild Card – San Francisco Giants vs. Pittsburgh Pirates
Winner: Pirates (even if Hunter Pence channeled Daniel Bryan and gave a great pep talk to Giants fans yesterday).
NLDS #1 (Best 3 out of 5) – Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Washington Nationals
Winner: Pirates in five
NLDS #2 (Best 3 out of 5) – St. Louis Cardinals vs. Los Angeles Dodgers
Winner: Cardinals in five
NLCS (Best 4 out of 7) – Pittsburgh Pirates vs. St. Louis Cardinals
Winner: Pirates in seven
NLCS MVP: Starling Marte, Pittsburgh Pirates
2014 World Series: Baltimore Orioles vs. Pittsburgh Pirates
Winner: Pirates in seven
2014 World Series MVP: Andrew McCutchen, Pittsburgh Pirates
I believe the Pirates will party like its 1979.
