The 2012 MLB post-season gets underway later today.

So here’s what I think will come to pass.

AMERICAN LEAGUE

AL Wild Card Match Up – Baltimore Orioles vs. Texas Rangers 

The Rangers will advance to the ALDS with an 8-7 victory.

ALDS – Texas Rangers vs. New York Yankees (best three games out of five)

Rangers in five.

ALDS – Oakland A’s vs. Detroit Tigers (best three games out of five)

A’s in four.

ALCS – Texas Rangers vs. Oakland A’s (best four games out of seven)

Rangers in six.

ALCS MVP – Michael Young

NATIONAL LEAGUE

NL Wild Card Match Up – St. Louis Cardinals vs. Atlanta Braves

The Cardinals will advance to the NLDS with a 4-1 victory.

NLDS – St. Louis Cardinals vs. Washington Nationals (best three games out of five)

Cardinals in five.

NLDS – San Francisco Giants vs. Cincinnati Reds (best three games out of five)

Reds in four.

NLCS – St. Louis Cardinals vs. Cincinnati Reds (best four games out of seven)

Reds in five.

NLCS MVP – Jay Bruce

2012 World Series – Texas Rangers vs. Cincinnati Reds

Reds in four.

World Series MVP – Aroldis Chapman
