Mavs Win 1st NBA Title
by

The Dallas Mavericks defeated the Miami Heat 105-95 in Game 6 of the NBA Finals to win their first NBA Title.

Honestly, I wasn’t really rooting for either team. I certainly wasn’t rooting for LeBron James and company after they dispatched of the Boston Celtics. But I’m not a fan of Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, either. I can’t stand his boorish disposition much less his willingness to legitimize 9/11 conspiracy theorists. Contrary to the views of a certain sportswriter, Cuban is the last thing Major League Baseball needs.

On the other hand, it is nice to see Dirk Nowitzki get his moment in the sun. The German born forward has spent his entire 13-year NBA career with the Mavs and was named the NBA Finals MVP.

I never thought I would see the day where the Dallas Cowboys would fall behind both the Dallas Mavericks and the Texas Rangers in the sports pecking order in Dallas-Fort Worth area.
