In Virginia’s 1st, 2nd and 5th districts, Rep. Rob Wittman, auto dealer Scott Rigell, and state Sen. Robert Hurt all beat Tea Party-backed candidates in the Republican primaries. In the 11th district, Oakton businessman Keith Fimian beat Fairfax Supervisor Pat Herrity. The GOP primary in Rep. Jim Moran’s (D) district, between Patrick Murray and Matthew Berry, is still too close to call.
