I caught a bit of Rick Perry’s CPAC speech today and, boy, does he have a fire in the belly.
Had we seen this fire in 2012, then perhaps he would have won the GOP nomination. Of course, Perry
underwent back surgery which significantly contributed to his lackluster campaign.
So now that Perry has
no impending medical procedures, look for him to throw his hat into the ring for 2016. He has something to prove. Of course, Perry will have an uphill battle especially if fellow Texan Ted Cruz should decide to run. But Perry could benefit from low expectations. If he exceeds expectations on the campaign trail and particularly in debate performances, Perry could be the dark horse candidate for the GOP. Even if Perry doesn’t win, he could make things very, very interesting.
