Former Rep. John Hostettler, a candidate for the Republican nomination to succeed Sen. Evan Bayh (D-IN), rips likely Democratic nominee Rep. Brad Ellsworth for his health care vote:
A March 23rd piece that ran in National Journal’s Hotline sheds some light on Ellsworth’s recent decision to switch from “undecided” to “yes”.
Outgoing Senator Evan Bayh announced that he is giving his political protege a cool one million campaign dollars today.
Hotline: The contribution is “the largest donation ever by an individual not on the ballot,” according to a press release issued by the IN Dems.
Largest donation ever…
Hotline: “This unprecedented contribution will be put to good use in electing Brad Ellsworth … and in helping Democrats from the top of the ticket on down,” said IN Dem Chair Dan Parker.
Senator Bayh’s Indecent Proposal – one million reasons for Ellsworth to vote yes on a big government takeover of health care.
The Washington Post has an interview with another candidate for the GOP nomination, former Sen. Dan Coats, who pledges to turn a race against Ellsworth into a referendum on President Obama.
