Hillary and the NAACP Mob
by

Among the speakers at the upcoming Democratic convention is the mother of Michael Brown, who died after attacking a police officer in Ferguson, Missouri, a conclusion that even Eric Holder’s politicized Justice Department had to acknowledge. That Hillary would give a platform to Brown’s mother to trash cops tells voters all they need to know about her contempt for police officers at a time of cop-killing.

Hillary joined the left in destroying that police officer’s career for simply doing his job and now has the audacity to give anti-cop activists another chance to slander him. At this rate Marilyn Mosby may get a speaking slot at the convention.

After Mosby threw six innocent police officers to a Baltimore mob, Hillary didn’t say a word. She has been in the tank for anti-cop prosecutors and activists from the start. Now that the death toll of cops is rising, Hillary is moderating her rhetoric a bit, but she still can’t help seconding the demagogic cries of the NAACP. This was on shrill display at its convention on Monday, where Hillary threw red meat to the mob in the form of a lecture about white “privilege.”

“We white people,” she said, “need to do a better job of listening when African-Americans talk about the seen and unseen barriers you face every day.” Given “our privilege,” she said, we should “practice humility rather than assume that our experiences are everyone’s experiences.”

Hinged on that overgeneralization, Hillary’s lecture decried overgeneralization. Dividing Americans by race, she called for racial unity. Blaming police departments for “implicit racism,” she condemned cop-killing. She never lets logic or facts interfere with her campaigning.

She spread a smear about Trump not renting to blacks and accused him of insufficient respect for Islam. She also wanted to make sure that the crowd knew she was “hiring” get-out-the-vote organizers and that “we actually have a recruiter here today.”

After weeks of terrorist attacks and cop-killings—all of which had a connection to the world of Islam; both cop-killers identified with the Nation of Islam—Hillary still speaks as if campaigning against Islamophobia is the best use of a president’s time. The left’s embrace of Islam and black militancy, which goes back to the 1960s, rests upon the lie that both are movements of peace. Never mind that the kinship between the two, which the left has studiously ignored, derives from a common culture of violence and revenge.

The left likes its “reason” without religion and its religion without reason. It bounces between staunch defenses of the “separation of church and state” and outbursts of Islamophilia. Its irrationality can either take the form of extreme secularism or the romanticizing of anti-Western religions. One can imagine Hillary approving an ACLU protest of a governmental Christmas display but not a Ramadan feast.

The subtext of the left’s Islamophilia and embrace of black militancy is that the “white” West deserves payback for its “privilege.” Even as she expressed dismay at the cop-killings, Hillary let her NAACP audience know that she had no intention of relaxing her anti-cop campaign. Let’s not allow these cop-killings to slow us down, she in effect told the crowd:

“And today, there are people all across America sick over what happened in Baton Rouge and in Dallas, but also fearful that the murders of police officers means that vital questions about police-community relations will go unanswered. Now this is a reasonable fear, isn’t it?”

Naturally, Hillary didn’t say a word about the culture of crime in America’s inner cities. What she calls “police-community relations” are police-criminal relations, and in that exchange it is only the police who need “reforming” in her view. She peppered her speech with euphemistic slights at the police and with calls for everyone but criminals to be held “accountable.” Nor did she mention the crisis of illegitimacy and fatherless homes, even as she threw out statistics about infant mortality and deaths from asthma in the black community explained by that crisis. She blamed it all on racism and inadequate government “resources.”

The media was too busy scrutinizing Melania Trump’s prose to parse the outrageous meaning of Hillary’s NAACP speech. And let’s see if MSNBC’s Chris Matthews, who got so worked up about the GOP inviting the mother of a Benghazi victim to its convention, will show anywhere near the same ire at Hillary’s “mothers” when they appear in Philadelphia to call cleared cops “murderers.”
