Harry Morgan, R.I.P.

Actor Harry Morgan has died at the age of 96. His cause of death has not been released.

Although Morgan appeared in movies such as How The West Was Won, Inherit The Wind, The Shootist as well as several film collaborations with Jimmy Stewart and director Anthony Mann (i.e. Bend of the River, Thunder Bay and The Glenn Miller Story), he was best known for his roles on television.

From 1967 to 1970, Morgan co-starred with Jack Webb on Dragnet as Detective Bill Gannon. In 1975, Morgan joined the cast of M*A*S*H playing Colonel Henry Potter and remained with the series until its end in 1983. Morgan, along with Jamie Farr and William Christopher, also starred in a short-lived spinoff AfterM*A*S*H.

I’ll leave you with a remixed clip of Dragnet in which Gannon and Friday sternly admonish President Obama:
