In just over 2½ months, we have seen the Obama Administration censor the use of the phrase of “Islamist terrorism” by French President Francois Hollande during a White House visit, the State Department excise a question posed by Fox News’ James Rosen concerning whether the Obama Administration had been in secret talks with Iran (they had been of course) and, of course, yesterday the DOJ’s pathetic redaction of Orlando terrorist Omar Mateen pledging allegiance to ISIS during in the transcript of his 911 call.

If George Orwell had been brought back to life what would he have thought of the Obama Administration? As Orwell wrote in 1984, “Who controls the past controls the future. Who controls the present controls the past.” While the Obama Administration will only control the present for seven more months, they are doing their best to control the past and thus the future. Fortunately, there are enough Winston Smiths out there to make the Obama Administration look foolish instead of having the awe inspiring power of Big Brother. While Obama might not be as permanent as Big Brother, his Alinskyite philosophy is in alignment with the two minute hate. On any given day, Goldstein could be Republicans, gun owners, millionaires and billionaires, Fox News and, of course, Israel.

Despite its ineptness, we should be clear of the Obama Administration’s objectives. In its world, foreign heads of state don’t utter the words “Islamist terrorism”, journalists never ask it embarrassing questions and terrorists never proclaim loyalty to ISIS nor speak of Islam.

But most distressing of all is that these practices will not stop when Obama leaves office. Regardless of whether we elect Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump, such deception shall be refined until we believe that 2+2=5. As time goes on, the price for exposing such deception grows steeper. In which case, the Thought Police and Ministry of Truth will soon be hiring in great numbers with fewer Winston Smiths among us.
