Local Democrats apparently believe that Bernie Sanders, daft or not, still carries some political weight. He was at the University of South Florida in Tampa Wednesday afternoon to whoop up various Democrat candidates. About 700 people showed up to feel the bern — college students being notoriously willing to listen to just about anybody so long as the speaker is sufficiently left of center. (No doubt Bernie is at least marginally less boring than the students’ professors, and more amusing than writing term papers.)

One has to estimate that the pep rally was pretty dull and predictable, at least until 23-year-old Victoria Royal took off her shirt and ran topless through the proceedings. The Tampa Bay Times reports that rather than being thankful that La Royal had taken a rather, uh, flat presentation up-tempo, USF campus police demanded that she cut it out and put her shirt back on. She declined these requests, and so was retrained and carted off, to be charged with exposure of sex organs and resisting an officer without violence. Both misdemeanors. No report as to whether campus cops were booed for throttling what had to be the high-point of an otherwise tedious Democrat gab-fest. Also no word if she got a bigger hand than any of the other speakers, whose well-worn talking points had to have been, well, a bust.

What Mizz King’s Wednesday mission or message might have been remains unclear. Was she trying to raise consciousness? About what? Having to wear a top on a warm Florida afternoon? Something about transparency? We likely won’t know. All other women at the séance kept their clothes on (demonstrating once again that Democrats can be almost as unimaginative as Republicans).

Photos reveal, the Times reports, that our Vicky had written all over her torso and arms (for some reason the Times did not share these photos with subscribers). But, alas, the writing provides no clues to her message, assuming she had one. It would appear that, at least on this occasion, she was as incoherent as Bernie.
