The American Conservative Defends Taibbi For Bashing Breitbart
by

Last night, I took Matt Taibbi of Rolling Stone to task for delighting in the death of Andrew Breitbart.

Well, this morning Clark Stooksbury of The American Conservative (which these days is neither particularly American nor conservative in its outlook) rushed to the defense of Taibbi. Stooksbury complains, “He quotes the nasty part of Taibbi’s obit but leaves out all of the nice parts and whines about how mean liberals are to conservatives.”

Let me remind you how Taibbi paid “tribute” to Breitbart:

Good! F#*k him. I couldn’t be happier that he’s dead.

Once Taibbi unleashed that out of the bag what the hell else was there for him to say? What “nice parts” could he have possibly added?

Imagine if someone delivering a eulogy said, “This rotten bastard deserved to die. The only reason I am here to see that his coffin is lowered.” Unless that person was John Cleese paying homage to Graham Chapman, the eulogizer couldn’t very well go on to say the dearly departed was kind to children and small furry animals, now could he? Needless to say, Taibbi is no John Cleese.
