O’Reilly Puts Obama on Defensive in Super Bowl Interview
by

I watched Bill O’Reilly’s second Super Bowl interview with President Obama. In their first Super Bowl interview three years ago, I thought Obama best O’Reilly as he mostly asked softball questions. But this time around, O’Reilly was far more assertive and had Obama on the defensive with questions about Obamacare, Benghazi and the IRS scandal. At one point, Obama told O’Reilly, “O.K., you’ve got a long list of my mistakes.”

Don’t get me wrong. Obama was in his usual audacious form claiming the Healthcare.gov website “got fixed” and 3 million people have signed up for Obamacare and that we “hold everyone up and down the line accountable.”  He also said there was “not a smidgen of corruption” in the IRS. Obama would not answer questions about why he didn’t fire HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, if then Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta had told him if Benghazi was a terrorist attack or if telling the American public “If you can like your health insurance, you can keep it” was his biggest mistake. Hell, Obama wouldn’t even tell O’Reilly who he thought would win the Super Bowl (although he did say the score would be 24-21).

For good measure, Obama twice attacked Fox News. First, with regard to not being forthcoming about calling a Benghazi a terrorist attack, Obama told O’Reilly “folks like you and your network are telling them that”. Second, Obama asserted that “you and your TV station” were driving the IRS scandal.

I hate to break it to President Obama, but Fox News didn’t tell the world the Benghazi attack was a spontaneous attack resulting from an internet video. Nor was it Fox News that denied Tea Party and other conservative non-profit organizations tax exempt status. President Obama cannot handle criticism because he believes he is above and beyond it. In this interview, Obama did nothing to endear himself to the American public.
