NARAL President Ponders Bid for DNC Chair
by

In the week since Donald Trump and millions of Americans abruptly cancelled Hillary Clinton’s expected coronation, Democrats and progressives have been telling themselves a variety of stories to cope, most of which aren’t reality-based. President Obama, on a call with the DNC, offered his usual excuse for failure: that they just need to get their ideas “heard” better.

That’s right, the party that has almost total control over mainstream sources of media and Hollywood wants to pretend that America isn’t clear on what they believe. Why? Because it is easier than admitting that those beliefs were rejected. The consoling stories about the meaningless popular vote are reinforcing a false, and condescending, belief that Americans everywhere would be on board with them if they just knew better.

Rather than accept what really happened and attempt reaching out to voters outside of the elitist liberal coastal enclaves and search for common ground, they seem to be doubling down on things that could keep them in the minority for a while.

Keith Ellison’s name has already been floated to take over the DNC, a move that would alienate far more people than it would bring together. Now, abortion ghoul and NARAL president Ilyse Hogue is tossing her name in as a possible replacement for Donna Brazile.

Ilyse Hogue, the president of NARAL Pro-Choice America, is strongly considering a campaign for chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, pondering a candidacy packaged as a female voice from outside government.

The 47-year-old Hogue is the first woman to emerge as a serious potential candidate for the position, following formal announcements from Rep. Keith Ellison of Minnesota, former Vermont governor and DNC Chairman Howard Dean and South Carolina Democratic Party Chairman Jaime Harrison.

Former Maryland governor and presidential candidate Martin O’Malley is also contemplating a bid.

Howard Dean is one of the more sane picks in that lot.

Ellison seems to be the front runner at the moment, mostly because he’s supposed to provide some sort of counter to Trump’s treatment of Islam as a problem. It’s all about the narrative with them, never mind what the people obviously believe. The people in Ellison’s home district and Beltway Democrats will be thrilled, the rest of America, not so much.

Hogue, of course, represents the left’s pathological obsession with abortion. They might just be dumb enough to choose her to steer the party too, because they believe this is still a winning issue.

Despite having just lost.

The out-of-work, forgotten Americans who just turned out in droves to elect Donald Trump aren’t worried about social issues, just because actresses tell them they should be. This should be an obvious lesson from the election, but the Democrats don’t seem to have much familiarity with the obvious these days.

Honestly, I really hope they go with a choice who represents their most extreme, and generally unpopular, positions. It could keep them wandering in the political wilderness for years.
