This week the January 6 Committee opens its public hearings. Suffice it to say that what is about to unfold is a carefully staged show, arranged in detail with the Cult of Washington Insiders that is, in this instance, the committee members and their liberal media buddies.

And just to illustrate how the Democrats/media alliance works in this case, here is this headline from our friends at NewsBusters:

Ex-ABC News President Is Advising Nancy Pelosi’s 1/6 Committee Prime Time ‘Hearings’

You read that right. The January 6 TV show is going to be produced and directed by a former president of ABC. Ya can’t make it up.

Yet before the Cult’s show even opens, the Cult of Washington Insiders has been on full display in the last few weeks.

First, this headline from the New York Post on the trial of Hillary Clinton campaign lawyer and Cult Insider Michael Sussmann:

Judge allows Hillary, AOC donors in jury pool for ex-Clinton-lawyer’s Russia trial

The story says this:

As many as three Hillary Clinton donors — including one who also supported US Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez — are among the prospective jurors for former Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann’s trial.

Then there was this headline out of the trial:

Can you say “tainted jury pool”? Hey, no problem!

And oh yes. Speaking of the presiding judge in the case, Christopher Cooper, the judge is married to one Amy Jeffries — the lawyer for the infamous FBI lawyer Lisa Page, she of the get-Trump texts with FBI colleague Peter Strzok inside the FBI. Disqualify himself for an obvious Cult conflict of interest? Not a prayer.

Note as well that after all the energy consumed to convict Trump national security adviser Gen. Michael Flynn for lying to the FBI, when it came to D.C. Insider Sussmann, one of the Sussmann jurors said this of exactly why he voted Sussmann not guilty of the exact same charge against Flynn:

I don’t think it should have been prosecuted. There are bigger things that affect the nation than a possible lie to the FBI.

Got it. The Cult of Washington Insiders speaks.

Then there’s the shocking if not surprising tale of former Trump White House trade adviser Peter Navarro. Navarro had the timidity to stand up to the Cult’s corrupt, anti-constitutional January 6 Committee by refusing to cooperate with it. The committee’s response? In a vivid illustration of the Cult of Washington Insiders’ Stalin-style totalitarianism, the FBI dragged Navarro off of a plane flight, handcuffed him, and shackled him in leg irons as they arrested him.

All of this in the wake of the January 6 Committee’s subpoena to AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, and more for the text, email, and phone records of, as my colleague Melissa Mackenzie has noted, “100-plus citizens.” She correctly asks:

How many elected officials, journalists, acquaintances, family, and activists’ data are being scooped up by the select committee? How is this constitutional?

And from Cheney on Navarro’s arrest and the committee’s massive invasion of privacy? Silence.

Taken not just individually but collectively, this committee and its Cult of Washington Insiders, with Wyoming “Republican” Rep. Liz Cheney in a Cult leadership role, has been conducting a massive assault on civil liberties and the Constitution itself.

And as all this brazen totalitarian style conduct by the Cult goes on not only unimpeded but encouraged by Cheney and her committee, there is Cheney saying this, per Reuters:

“People must pay attention. People must watch, and they must understand how easily our democratic system can unravel if we don’t defend it,” Cheney said during an interview broadcast on CBS Sunday Morning, days before Congress’ official probe of the Jan. 6, 2021, assault on the Capitol begins public hearings.

Without the slightest sense of awareness, she said of opposition to the committee’s totalitarian tactics:

“It’s an ongoing threat,” Cheney said in an interview on CBS News of efforts to delegitimize U.S. elections by former President Donald Trump and his allies. “It is extremely broad. It’s extremely well organized. It’s really chilling.”

Since I have repeatedly documented the problems my own state of Pennsylvania has repeatedly had in holding honest elections, it is enough to merely underscore again that voter fraud — which has occurred repeatedly in Pennsylvania alone — delegitimizes elections. The very fact that Cheney regards opposition to voter fraud and stolen elections as “really chilling” is itself “really chilling.”

Chilling — but utterly predictable. Liz Cheney — and she is decidedly far from alone — is in fact a member in good standing of the Cult of Washington Insiders. And as I can attest personally after working there for decades, that Cult is all over the nation’s capital and more, as the response of the Insider-filled Sussmann jury and judge vividly illustrates.

The Cult is about one thing, and one thing only: power. There is no law and certainly no constitution that is to stand in the way of the Cult’s exercise of raw state power.

Cheney has signed on eagerly to allow the Cult’s rummaging through the private communications of thousands of American citizens and members of the news media. She is perfectly OK with the FBI forcibly dragging a respected former presidential adviser off a plane, handcuffing and shackling him as they hustle him away in the style of a totalitarian state. And, but of course, none of these tactics are applied to herself or her fellow committee members or their staffs. There will be no one allowed to rummage through Cheney’s private texts, emails, or phone records as she uses her power to push a cheap political vendetta against a former president who had the nerve — the audacity! — to fight the Cult of Washington Insiders.

So this week, in a thoroughly staged television show with its media allies, Liz Cheney and the Cult of Washington Insiders will begin the public phase of its Stalinesque show trial.

It takes no Harry Potter-style wizard to know the outcome ahead of time: Trump and his followers are guilty, guilty, guilty!

The November elections and Republican control of the House cannot come soon enough. And when it does arrive, this committee should be shut down — and investigated itself — immediately. With every last text, email, and phone record of all of its members and staff exposed to the public.

To ensure that the massive abuse of power and disrespect for the Constitution by Cheney and her co-conspirators in the Cult of Washington Insiders is never, say again never, allowed to happen again.
