Clueless John — Exhibit A
by

Some time back Donald Trump made the provocative, very general, but hardly disputable claim that America is currently being led by fools in high office. When he demonstrated his firm grasp of the obvious in this way, he should have had a large picture of John Kerry in the background.

The laughable Kerry has been Exhibit A for the Rule by Fool theory for years. It first became clear to me that Jean Francois had no idea how the world works when he made the following remarkable statement during the 2004 presidential campaign (quoting from memory here, but I’m sure I have the essence): “I don’t want countries in the Middle East to just fear us – I want them to respect us.”

OK, any sentient being paying the slightest attention would see that the countries in the Middle East don’t respect or fear the United States, there being no reason to do either. And in that part of the world, fear and respect are the same thing.

Sadly, a presidential shellacking, more years in the Senate, and four years as Secretary of State haven’t made Clueless John any smarter. He demonstrated once again Monday in Bangladesh how uneducable he is when he said that Islamic terrorism would not be so bad if the media would just quit telling us about it.

“Perhaps the media would do us all a service if they didn’t cover it quite as much,” he said. “People wouldn’t know what’s going on.”

Hard to argue with this conclusion. Certainly no one save those at ground zero would know about murder and mayhem committed by Islamic jihadists if the media declined to cover it. And in the bizarre world of the Obamas and the Kerrys and the Clintons, this blissful ignorance is far preferable to closing with and destroying our mortal enemies.

Rule by Fool, indeed. And, the Donald forgot to add, by cowards and slackers.
