Kerry Claims Legitimacy, er, Rationale to Charlie Hebdo Murders (Or Je Ne Suis Pas Charlie)
by

Emily just drew my attention to this post by Bridget Johnson for PJ Media concerning Secretary of State John Kerry’s remarks to U.S. Embassy staff in Paris which pretty much justify January’s Charlie Hebdo attacks:

In the last days, obviously, that has been particularly put to the test. There’s something different about what happened from Charlie Hebdo, and I think everybody would feel that. There was a sort of particularized focus and perhaps even a legitimacy in terms of — not a legitimacy, but a rationale that you could attach yourself to somehow and say, okay, they’re really angry because of this and that. This Friday was absolutely indiscriminate. It wasn’t to aggrieve one particular sense of wrong. It was to terrorize people. It was to attack everything that we do stand for. That’s not an exaggeration.

It is also not an exaggeration to say than John Kerry is a useful idiot and a buffoon. To even entertain the idea that the massacre of cartoonists is legitimate makes Kerry unfit to represent the United States of America in any capacity. Although Kerry reconsidered his use of the word legitimate, if Kerry is capable of saying the Kouachi brothers had a rationale to do what they did because they were angry at the images of Muhammad then by this logic there is also a rationale to kill Salman Rushdie for writing The Satanic Verses. Rushdie may be alive and well, but his Japanese translator sure isn’t. I’m surprised Kerry didn’t bring Cat Stevens along to entertain the embassy staff. But it goes a long way in explaining why Obama, Kerry nor virtually any other Obama Administration official saw fit to come to Paris last January with virtually every other leader in the free world in the solidarity march following the attacks. Obama, Kerry and company have not only effectively declared, “Je ne suis pas Charlie,” but are untroubled by those who sought its destruction.

Even if Muslims have legitimate grounds to be offended by images of Muhammad, the rules of Western civilization cannot permit the killings of those who are involved in the publication of such images. Let their objections be expressed by non-violent means. The problem is that in Obamaworld and in left-wing American thought, Western civilization is illegitimate because of so-called colonialist ideology and racist baggage. Say what you will about the French Socialists, but their number one goal is the annihilation of ISIS. But in Obamaworld, it is possible for someone in a high position of authority like John Kerry to argue there is a rationale, if not a legitimacy to kill people for exercising their freedom of speech and thought. If such attitudes are not confronted and delegitimized it will result in the destruction of Western civilization and a return to Islamic barbarism. Sadly, we are well on our way and will continue down this road so long as the Obama Administration remains in office.
