Yasiel Puig is still going strong nearly two months after his MLB debut. After striking out three times, Puig hit a walk off home run to give the Dodgers a 1-0 victory over the Cincinnati Reds in 11 innings. It was his 10th home run of the season and first career walk off hit.
For good measure, Puig slid feet first into home plate as he was met by his teammates.
The Dodgers can do no wrong. They won today despite striking out 20 times. The Dodgers are 9-1 since the All-Star Break and have won 26 of their last 32 games. On June 22nd, the Dodgers were in last place in the NL West, nine and a half games back of the Arizona Diamondbacks. As of right now, they are in first place in the NL West, two and a half games ahead of the D’Backs. Puig has played no small role in this turnaround. In 48 games, Puig has a .372 BA, a .417 OBP with 10 HR and 23 RBI.
