Well, I must say I am a bit surprised that Sen. Blanche Lincoln stayed alive in the Democratic primary, beating Lt. Gov. Bill Halter 52 percent to 48 percent in Arkansas. Though perhaps I shouldn’t be since the third candidate in the first round was a libertarian-leaning conservative. This is a pretty significant setback for the unions and the netroots, who were hoping for Lincoln’s scalp. Though I think Lincoln is pretty unlikely to hold on against the Republicans this fall.
