R. Emmett Tyrrell, Jr. is the founder and editor in chief ofThe American Spectator. He is the author of The Death of Liberalism, published by Thomas Nelson Inc. His previous books include the New York Times bestseller Boy Clinton: The Political Biography; The Impeachment of William Jefferson Clinton; The Liberal Crack-Up; The Conservative Crack-Up; Public Nuisances; The Future that Doesn’t Work: Social Democracy’s Failure in Britain; Madame Hillary: The Dark Road to the White House; The Clinton Crack-Up; and After the Hangover: The Conservatives’ Road to Recovery.
He makes frequent appearances on national television and is a nationally syndicated columnist, whose articles have appeared in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Baltimore Sun, Washington Times, National Review, Harper’s, Commentary, The (London) Spectator, Le Figaro (Paris), and elsewhere. He is also a contributing editor to the New York Sun.
Wladyslaw (“Wlady”) Pleszczynski, Editorial Director
Wladyslaw (“Wlady”) Pleszczynski is editorial director of The American Spectator and editor of AmSpec Online. His tenure at the Spectator dates back to August 1980. A native of Santa Barbara, California, he (and his wife Joanna) have two sons and two cats, the first a former homeless single mother, the other a rescue Siamese and Prozac survivor.
His work has also appeared in the Wall Street Journal, National Review, Slate, the Weekly Standard, the Women’s Quarterly, and the Times Literary Supplement. He was a distinguished visiting fellow at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University, in 2001-2002. He is also the editor of Our Brave New World: Essays on the Impact of September 11 (Hoover Institution Press, 2002).
Melissa Mackenzie, Managing Editor
Melissa Mackenzie is managing editor of The American Spectator. She works and lives in Houston, Texas with her two sons, one daughter, and one dog.
She has commentated on both TV and radio on Fox Business News, the BBC, Huffington Post Live, and hosted her own podcasts Right Doctor and Malcolm & Melissa with Andrew Malcolm. She was a front page contributor to Red State and her work has also appeared at Pajamas Media, Breitbart, the Daily Caller, and her own website and blogs. She owns Slingshot Communications and has done digital and public relations work for media personalities, movies, books, phone apps and issue advocacy.
