In Mona Charen’s column last week, you saw Mitch Daniels talking about his social conservatism — something that had been in doubt in many circles after his poorly received “truce” on social issues. The question is whether he can use his record and position himself appropriately to undo the damage from the truce talk. Daniels has told local reporters in Indiana that he’ll decide on a 2012 presidential bid by May.
