About Sharyl Attkisson’s Resignation From CBS
by

Sharyl Attkisson was arguably the only TV reporter in the MSM on a national level who was prepared to vigorously hold the Obama Administration to account. This was evident with her various reports on Fast & Furious, Solyndra and Benghazi.

This did not please the brass at CBS who gradually provided Attkisson’s with less and less airtime. Today, Attkisson resigned from CBS after more than 20 years with the network citing its liberal bias and not making investigative journalism a priority.

Attkisson is certainly right about liberal bias at CBS, but I’m not sure about her views on CBS’ commitment to investigative journalism. If Fast & Furious, Solyndra and Benghazi had happened under the watch of the Bush Administration, CBS would have made these stories priority number one. And if her computer had been hacked while investigating a story which put the Bush Administration in a bad light then it would be Scott Pelley’s top story of the night and for that matter everyone else in the MSM. But since this occurred while she was investigating the Obama Administration’s role in covering up Benghazi, CBS nor anyone else in the MSM gave a damn.

Fortunately, there is a viable alternative to the MSM be it in talk radio, here at The American Spectator or at Fox News. Attkisson will probably get a call from Roger Ailes and perhaps from Glenn Beck or the fledgling NewsMax TV. Sooner or later, Attkisson will be back on a TV screen. In the meantime, Attkisson is working on a book tentatively titled “Stonewalled: One Reporter’s Fight for Truth in Washington”.

Sharyl Attkisson will be just fine. Her resignation is CBS and the MSM’s loss.
