Yesterday, Washington Nationals catcher Wilson Ramos was kidnapped from his family’s home in Venezuela by armed gunmen.
As of this writing, Ramos’ family has not been contacted for a ransom demand. Although kidnapping has become increasingly commonplace in Latin America, Venezuela makes Mexico look like a placid oasis by comparison. For its part, the Chavez regime see fits not to publish kidnapping statistics.
At this point, we can only hope for Ramos safe return.
