Sarah Palin’s endorsement of Donald Trump comes as no surprise as she has been singing his praises for some time now.
Nevertheless, I’m disappointed. Like Emily, I have long admired Palin and have written in her defense (here, here and here). I would like to think that Palin would see through Trump’s smoke and mirrors. Trump is about as conservative as Bernie Sanders. If you would have told me a year ago that Palin would endorse a presidential candidate who has long been pro-choice, pro-eminent domain, pro-single payer health care and who thought Mitt Romney was too tough on illegals, I would have scoffed. Ted Cruz seems more in sync with her ideological disposition. But I guess she’s embraced those New York values.
