Swedish PM: Knife Attacks in Israel Aren’t Terrorism
by

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s problems with President Obama are well documented. But Obama isn’t the only world leader with whom Netanyahu is having problems.

Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lofven stated in an interview that the recent knife attacks in Israel do not constitute terrorism. Lofven argued that knife attacks did not meet the “international classification” of terrorism.

Well, there is no international definition of terrorism. But if Ultra Orthodox Jewish Israelis were wantonly stabbing Palestinians do you think Lofven would refrain from characterizing such attacks as terrorism?

Lofven later attempted to clarify his remarks. But his remarks come in the wake of his Foreign Minister Margot Wallstrom blaming Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians as the cause of the Paris terror attacks (as recently detailed here at TAS by Daniel Mandel).

As in virtually all of Europe, Sweden has seen substantial Muslim immigration and it is not unaccompanied by assimilation. Consequently, Sweden’s Social Democrats appear to want to mollify the Muslims of Malmo who chant “Slaughter the Jews!!!” This mollification is taking the form of blaming Israel for terrorism and denying terrorism when Israelis are victims of it. Once again The Left is feeding into and legitimizing Muslim anti-Semitism.
