With regard to Emily’s commentary on this subject earlier today, it is interesting to see how the mainstream media (in this case represented by Politico) is foaming at the mouth with its claims that Ben Carson fabricated applying to get into West Point. In fact, there is no evidence to demonstrate that Carson ever made such a claim.

Do you remember the energy and intensity with which the mainstream media scrutinized President Obama’s actual collegiate record at Occidental College, Columbia University and Harvard Law? No? Well, good because neither do I. The mainstream media is no more curious about Obama’s grades than it was about his composite girlfriends or his false claims that his mother had been denied health insurance for her cancer treatments (she had been denied a disability claim).

Now I have misgivings about Carson. Aside from his compulsion to invoke the Nazis at the drop of a hat, I think there are other candidates who have a better grasp of both economic matters and foreign affairs. Methinks Carson would be the best Surgeon General since the late C. Everett Koop.

With all that said, it should be clear that if Ben Carson were a liberal Democrat, the mainstream media would be erecting monuments to this man. And unlike Obama, there would be some justification because Carson has actually accomplished meaningful things. For crying out loud, the man has made medical history. Ben Carson has actually done something for the betterment of humanity.

If Ben Carson were a liberal Democrat, Politico nor any other mainstream media outlet would have wasted a moment of their time on a story about him not applying to a college he never attended.
