Take a look at this question Fareed Zakaria posed to President Obama in an interview which will air tonight on CNN:

ZAKARIA: Prime Minister Netanyahu has injected himself forcefully into this debate on American foreign policy…

OBAMA: Right.

ZAKARIA: – in Washington.

OBAMA: Right.

ZAKARIA: Can you recall a time when a foreign head of government has done that? Is it appropriate for a foreign head of government to inject himself into an American debate?

OBAMA: You know, I’ll let you ask Prime Minister Netanyahu that question if he gives you an interview. I don’t recall a similar example.

Look at Zakaria’s question. He begins by asserting that Netanyahu “has injected himself forcefully into this debate on American foreign policy” before asking if it appropriate for Netanyahu “to inject himself into an American debate.”

Zakaria disingenuously poses the question as if Israel doesn’t have a legitimate concern in the outcome of this particular question of American foreign policy. Given that the Iran nuclear deal has been approved by the UN Security Council it is equally disingenuous for Zakaria to characterize it as solely “an American debate.”

As for President Obama, he says he does not recall a similar example. But of course he does. It was British Prime Minister David Cameron who called Senators to urge to oppose continuing sanctions against Iran this past January. But because Cameron was acting as Obama’s errand boy that’s OK. But when Netanyahu acts in the best interest of the country he leads and against the interests of Obama it is somehow sinister. But what else is new?
