Snowden Reportedly Seeking Asylum in Russia
by

According to reports coming out of Russia, NSA leaker Edward Snowden has applied for political asylum in that country.

This comes after Russian President Vladimir Putin indicated Snowden could remain in Russia providing he stop leaking information.

So now does Rand Paul think Snowden is cozying up with Russia?

Well, I am sure Snowden will enjoy Russia’s strong tradition of free of speech.

UPDATE: Snowden has confirmed he is seeking asylum in Russia, but insists he will leak more information as he sees fit (despite Putin’s public insistence he not do so).

He claimed that “the Obama Administration is afraid of you. It is afraid of an informed, angry public demanding the constitutional government it was promised – and it should be.”

There’s a kernel of truth in that statement. The problem is that he is making that statement on Russian soil and when Russians demand constitutional government they end up in jail like Pussy Riot and Garry Kasparov.

Snowden is, at best, a useful idiot.
