Chris Kelly, one half of the rap duo Kriss Kross, passed away on Wednesday. His cause of death is unknown. He was 34.
Known for wearing their clothes backwards, the teen duo of Kelly (a.k.a. Mac Daddy) and his friend Chris Smith (a.k.a. Daddy Mac) topped the charts in 1992 with “Jump, Jump”. They never attained that level of success again and largely disappeared from the music by the mid-1990s although they did reunite for a concert earlier this year. Yet “Jump, Jump” remains a seminal song in hip hop.
