So White House Press Secretary Jay Carney has declared, “Benghazi happened a long time ago.”
As I write this, the murders of four Americans at our consulate in Benghazi, Libya (including the American Ambassador Christopher Stevens) took place 232 days ago.
Let’s put that number into perspective. The shooting at the Sikh Temple in Oak Creek, Wisconsin took place 269 days ago while the movie theater shooting in Aurora, Colorado took place 285 days ago.
Could anyone imagine Carney saying either Oak Creek or Aurora “happened a long time ago”?
On August 4th, it will have been 232 days since the Newtown shooting occurred. So long as the Obama Administration is pursuing its gun control agenda, Newtown will be spoken of as if it happened yesterday.
Or look at it another way. Suppose the Benghazi attacks had been as a result of that Muhammad internet video. Does anyone think former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton would have asked, “What difference at this point does it make”? Does anyone think her successor John Kerry would have said, “We got a lot more important things to move on to”?
Interestingly, the FBI is seeking information on suspects it believes may be responsible for the Benghazi attacks. Well, I guess the FBI can call off its investigation since the Obama Administration views Benghazi as ancient history.
