Papelbon: “Obama Wants To Take Our Guns From Us.”

In an interview about the Boston Marathon terrorist attacks on Tuesday, Philadelphia Phillies closer Jonathan Papelbon made the following statement:

Today’s day and age has gotten so crazy. Shoot man, Obama wants to take our guns from us and everything. You got all this stuff going on, it’s just a little bit insane for me, man. I’m not sure how to take it.

Papelbon, who pitched with the Red Sox from 2005 to 2011 before signing a four year deal with the Phillies in 2012, lived in an apartment just above where one of the explosions took place.

I wonder what his Phillies teammate Jimmy Rollins thinks about Papelbon’s remark. Rollins, who won the 2007 National League MVP, has campaigned for Obama and once wrote an op-ed on his behalf.

To be a fly on the wall in the Phillies clubhouse.
