Liberal legal eagle Cass Sunstein is showing former Reagan Solicitor General Charles Fried a lot of love now that Fried has come out as an Obama supporter: “Fried is exceptionally thoughtful and principled; his vote for Obama is especially noteworthy.” Funny, but when fellow Obamacon Bill Weld nominated Fried to the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court in the 1990s, liberals screamed bloody murder. (Though in fairness, a lot of Sunstein-esque liberal academics, like Laurence Tribe, did support his nomination.) Fried was eventually confirmed.
