Reid Wilson’s take on Iowa is similar to mine. Assuming that the race for first is between Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney, and that the person who loses that race will finish second, there’s another contest for third between Fred Thompson, John McCain, Rudy Giuliani, and Ron Paul. A third place showing would keep Thompson’s campaign alive, give McCain a boost in New Hampshire, help revive Giuliani, or help Paul defy expectations.
