What Are Terrorists Teaching Your Kids?

The taxpayers of North Carolina would probably be shocked to learn that their state university has for a number of years employed a Marxist revolutionary who advocated the violent overthrow of the American government, which he described as "the imperialist, sexist, racist state."

Howard Machtinger wrote that in 1973, when he was a fugitive wanted by the FBI for his role in a plot by the so-called "Weatherman" terrorist group to bomb the Detroit Police Officers Association Building. Machtinger has never repudiated his radicalism. Indeed, only four years ago, Machtinger defended the Weather Underground in an article in the leftist journal In These Times, saying that it was a right-wing "libel on the antiwar movement" to call the criminal bombers "terrorists."

Fred Thompson Calls Benghazi ‘Biggest Cover-Up in American History’

By on 11.1.12 | 7:35PM

BLUE ASH, Ohio – Former Sen. Fred Thompson today said he was “totally disgusted” by the Obama administration’s handling of the Libya terrorist attack, saying that U.S. officials failed to act “while our people were being systematically slaughtered” at the Benghazi consulate.

Speaking at an event sponsored by the free-market group Americans for Prosperity, the former Republican senator from Tennessee invoked his experience nearly 40 years ago as a Watergate investigator, saying that Congress must “get to the bottom of” the administration’s failures in the Sept. 11 incident that left Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans dead in Libya.

“This is probably the biggest cover-up in American history – and you’re talking to an expert in cover-ups,” Thompson said.

Acts of Terror, etc.

By on 10.16.12 | 11:36PM

One of the weirder exchanges tonight? The discussion over whether Obama called the attack on the Benghazi consulate an "act of terror." Candy Crowley jumped in to defend Obama (oddly) and fact-check Romney, to say that Obama did, in fact, call it one. The video of Obama's speech in which he supposedly called it an act of terror is below.

One problem: He never calls it that. He mentions the extent to which acts of terror will have an impact on American life (not much, apparently), but he never calls out this particular act as an act of terror. And whatever the case, it takes four whole minutes -- a lifetime in speechwriter years -- to get to that word. Terror.

Conservative blogger Pamela Geller says she has been threatened with discontinuation of her online payment account by PayPal, the most widely used service of its kind.

On her popular Web site, Atlas Shrugs, Geller posted the text of an e-mail notice she received Saturday morning from PayPal's Acceptable Use Policy Department.

"[A]fter a recent review of your account, it has been determined that you are currently in violation of PayPal's Acceptable Use Policy," the PayPal e-mail said. "Under the Acceptable Use Policy, PayPal may not be used to send or receive payments for items that promote hate, violence, racial intolerance or the financial exploitation of a crime."
