On Jeffrey Toobin and the Hypocritical Master Baiters of the Left-Wing Media
by
“The president is guilty” — Jeffrey Toobin on CNN, Jan. 31, 2020 (YouTube screenshot)

They are oh-so-righteous, aren’t they? All the Don Lemons, Jake Tappers, Chris Cuomos, Jeffrey Toobins. The Scullys. The Chris Wallaces. The Morning Joes and Mikas. The Stephanopouloses. They sit night and day passing judgment on the character of the president of the United States, his honesty, his morality. Because they have been vetted as perfect, they are situated uniquely to pass judgment.

They bait him at interviews. They bait him at debates. They go after his taxes. They lie endlessly about his perfectly reasonable Charlottesville remarks and bait him to condemn White supremacists — which he has done dozens of times — while allowing his opponent, the racist, corrupt, and immoral Biden, a free pass on the hatred manifested by the so-called Black Lives Matter street gangs that assault people at outdoor restaurants and that burn down neighborhoods.

They are despicable.

No fair-minded person would deny the media their right to investigate wrongdoing. But they do not do that. They will not investigate Christopher Steele. After four years, we still do not know who this guy is, what made him tick as he did. We still do not know how Robert Mueller really is. James Comey has not been brought to justice. Hillary Clinton got away with spoliating evidence, the same federal crime that put Martha Stewart in prison. Does Jake Tapper pay all his taxes? Don Lemon? Cuomo? How much money do they earn? Do they attach a Schedule A for itemized deductions? What about CNN? MSNBC? NBC? What deductions does the New York Times take? The Washington Post? Their reporters?

Who are these people who sit in judgment? Our federal judges go through a vetting, an “advise and consent.” So, regardless of whether we like a Ruth Bader Ginsburg (not) or an Amy Coney Barrett (love her), we get a vetting. If a Democrat judge — a fair vetting. If a Republican-nominated judge, a cross between a Spanish Inquisition and a Stalinist Show Trial, replete with false charges, torture, and demands for public apologies for sins never committed. But at least a vetting. We dig up the human dirt of the Earth, people prepared to lie publicly about rapes and worse, knowing assuredly that they will not ever be sued for defamation, no matter how low they go in their mendacity, even as they will cash in big-time down the road. Book deals. Speeches with large honoraria. Just sit for three hours and say that a decent man, a family man, a religious soul with a beautiful family raped you — and collect. No need to pass “Go.”

At least the judges go through a vetting. But who vets the media sorts? The ones who overlook Biden family corruption and scandals, Biden’s history of lying about his education, his very life. They sit in judgment.

All the master baiters. The Democrats of the Senate Judiciary Committee. Kamala Harris, who slept her way up the ladder of Democrat politics with Willie Brown, a man 31 years her senior and very married, yet cavorting with him publicly, posing with him in night outfits that said it all, while Brown’s wife gave interviews to the media reminding Harris that Willie remained married with a wife who would not hand over her husband to the shameless arm-candy who was drinking with her husband at soirees:

Listen, she may have him at the moment, but come inauguration day and he’s up there on the platform being sworn in, I’ll be the b***h holding the Bible.

Amy Klobuchar, a viciously sick woman who threw hard office equipment at her staff members who displeased her, who made them wash out her hair combs after she ate salad with them, who sabotaged their efforts to move on to new jobs. She sits in judgment. Dick Durbin, a United States senator who comes across so reasonably, yet who carries a lifetime public record of lying again and again. Dick Blumenthal, a phony who lied about having served bravely — or otherwise — in Vietnam. These are they who sit in judgment.

Joe Biden, a lifelong racist. Kamala Harris called him out on his racism during the Democrat primaries. He looked at Barack Obama, as you and I and all America were doing, as Obama emerged on the national stage. We Americans saw a non-entity, a senator from Illinois with no proven accomplishments. Someone who had been allowed into Harvard Law School and later had been selected by his liberal classmates to be law review president but who never once published a single piece of legal scholarship. For a brief time, a law professor who still never managed to publish a single piece of legal scholarship. A community organizer who sat in Reverend Wright’s pews while that hater used his pulpit to spew hatred of America. That is whom Americans saw. But Joe Biden saw someone else: a Black man who was clean. Biden saw a Black man who uses soap, who takes a shower or bath, who brushes his teeth, who makes sure he has no body odor under his arms. That is whom Joe Biden saw. A Black man who is clean.

Joe Biden, a lifelong racist. He opposed school busing because he did not want White kids to study in a “jungle.” Americans go into a 7-Eleven or a donut store and see a convenience store where we rapidly can pick up a food item while someone else buys a lottery ticket. Joe Biden on the same line sees a sanctuary for people from India. He presumably figures that, if the Twin Towers had been attacked by people from India instead of Arab Muslims from Saudi Arabia, the attacks would have been on 7-Eleven instead of 9/11.

Joe Biden, a lifelong racist. He publicly mocks Black mothers as idiots incapable of giving their children a vocabulary:

When you have children coming from dysfunctional homes, when you have children coming from homes where there’s no books, where the mother from the time they’re born doesn’t talk to them — as opposed to the mother in Iowa who’s sitting out there and talks to them, the kid starts out with a 300-word larger vocabulary at age three.… Half this education gap exists before the kid steps foot in the classroom.

Joe Biden, a lifelong racist. Made a career working with racist U.S. senators. Looks at Blacks as objects, not as people: “If you do not do X or Y or Z, then you ain’t Black.” Yet he sits in judgment of Donald Trump.

And now we learn about CNN’s Jeffrey Toobin, another master baiter, another who sits in judgment. As “Cheryl David” often would ask her TV-character husband on HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm: “Larry, who does that? What’s wrong with you?”

These people who sit in judgment are not vetted. We do not know who they are, what they are. They took exams in school, passed some tests, got a degree, got hired for a job — and suddenly they sit and judge the president of the United States night after night, day after day. But who are they, these master baiters? Who are they to judge? What do we even know about them?

Many of them are themselves deeply sick people. Several times, for example, the media have been unable to cover the crazy anger explosions of an Alec Baldwin, as he has been caught on a mike or on a recording device using slurs against gay people or even cursing out his daughter. Chris Cuomo has a temper that has become legendary. Just call him “Fredo” and duck. Get him on the right day, and he tells you how much he hates CNN, where he works.

What do we know of these people? What do we know of Chris Wallace? As left-identified, biased-against-Trump media types go, he is the best we can expect. But what do we know of him? We know this: a card-carrying Democrat for two decades. Do we know how often each day he condemns White supremacists? How often does he condemn a Black Lives Matter riot that burns down part of a city? Like half of America, he divorced once. Do we know why he and his first wife divorced? Really, we should not care. Do we know why he had significant issues with his dad? Really, we should not care. Yet he is another to judge the very character of the president, a guy who actually had a famously wonderful relationship with his dad.

On Thursday night we get our second and final presidential debate for this quadrennial cycle. We cannot get a fair moderator. There does not seem to be one in all of America. Whether we get an outright cheater like CNN’s Candy Crowley — emphasis on the candy — or a less overtly partisan Democrat like Chris Wallace, we cannot get one single unbiased journalist from among 300 million people in all of the United States of America to moderate a presidential debate. And the best we can hope for is that, at least, they keep the camera on the moderator’s upper torso so that we be spared whatever it is that animates a Jeffrey Toobin during a five-minute coffee break as this next media master undertakes to bait the president of the United States.
