On the blogger conference call John McCain was suitably angry about the treatment of Judge Southwick--he termed it "more than outrageous." In addition to warning Democrats that if they persisited with this tactic they would face similar action with a Democratic nominee he suggested public pressure on Senator Leahy to give Judge Southwick an up or down vote. He said he would "hate to bring the Senate to a halt" but vowed that "there comes a time where you have to stand up" to the Senate obstructionism. Let us see if his colleagues agree.
