Thoughts on the Lenin Statues in the U.S.

By on 12.9.13 | 6:53PM

With Ukrainian protesters having toppled the statue of Vladimir Lenin in Kiev yesterday, I wonder if one day we will ever get around to toppling the statues of Lenin which stand in New York City, Seattle and Atlantic City. I suppose we can be grateful that the Lenin statue in Las Vegas was beheaded. But then why have it at all?

Lamentably, with the way our political culture in the United States has changed (especially so during the Obama Administration), I think we far are more likely to see statues of Lenin erected than dismantled.
