The Best Football Endings of All Time

By on 12.2.13 | 5:39PM

If you haven’t seen what transpired at Jordan-Hare Stadium to bring the Alabama vs. Auburn Iron Bowl to a stunning conclusion, you need to change that; the game was an instant classic.

So classic, in fact, that it’s found its way into the discussion of the “best college football endings of all time.”

Here it is:

USA Today listed it’s top five endings, ranking the latest dramatic conclusion fourth behind Doug Flutie’s Hail Mary; the infamous Cal vs. Stanford game that ended while the band was on the field; and the “Miracle at Michigan,” where Colorado scored twice in the last two minutes, the latter on Kordell Stewart’s Hail Mary pass.

This is the best ending to a college game of my generation—I wasn’t alive to see the first two and was an infant for the third—and the best I’ve ever seen live.

Do you agree with that assessment? Do you like or dislike USA Today's ranking?
