Barack Obama May Try to Shut Down Government Over Amnesty

By on 12.2.14 | 3:30PM

The brief government shutdown was so much fun last year that it looks like we're going to try it again. This time, instead of having to listen to Ted Cruz read Dr. Seuss into the Congressional record, however, we'll have to listen to the White House explain why the Postal Service can't deliver your Christmas catalogs and coupon books efficiently. Having apparently taken a page out of Sen. Cruz's playbook, the Obama Administration, through Josh Earnest, has noted that if the Republicans try to pass a budget bill that deliberately excludes funding for the President's executive amnesty, we'll the President is just going to shut this whole thing down, take his ball and pout in a corner.

White House spokesman Josh Earnest said Monday that President Barack Obama will block a government budget bill if the GOP denies him the funds needed to provide amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants.

“Yes,” Earnest said when asked by ABC News reporter Jonathan Karl if Obama would veto a government-wide budget that defunded the amnesty program.

Netanyahu Fires Lapid & Livni; Forces Early Elections UPDATED

By on 12.2.14 | 3:10PM

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has fired two of his top cabinet ministers and rivals to force early elections. Netanyahu sacked both Finance Minister Yair Lapid and Justice Minister Tzipi Livni. Both Lapid and Livni lead secular liberal parties which were part of Netanyahu's coalition government. Both Livni and Lapid have been openly critical of Netanyahu for months, but the final straw revolved the so-called Jewish State Bill which would formally declare Israel a Jewish state.  After Israel's cabinet approved the bill, both Livni and Lapid vowed that their parties would vote against it. Lapid likened the bill to the imposition of Sharia law.

Russell Brand Does Not Want to Talk About How Rich He Is

By on 12.2.14 | 3:08PM

Russell Brand is a British comedian who recently named himself the voice of the oppressed and the leader of the coming proletariat revolution against the super-rich despite having a net worth of an estimated $15 million, some of which came from his recent book's, Revolution, banner sales. The book describes, in detail, how Brand would reformat the world economy to benefit the people who, I suspect, purchased his book, but fails to mention whether he'd also donate the exceptional profits he's made telling them how to run their lives.

Mary Landrieu’s Opponent Will Probably Kill Your Dog or Something

By on 12.2.14 | 12:01PM

Mary Landrieu has to take what she can get as far as organizations willing to pay for airtime. After a disasterous final debate last night and a depressing lack of funds left in the bank as she faces a runoff against a Republican for her Louisiana Senate seat, Mary Landrieu must turn to her only friends among her Louisiana constituents. And, apparently, her only friends among her Louisiana constituents are...the Humane SocietyAnd it's spending around $100K on television ads.

Beware, Louisiana. If you do not vote for Mary Landrieu for Senate, that beloved pet of yours will die a horrible, painful death, probably at the hands of Mary Landrieu's Republican opponent.

Lacking a Sense of Irony, Planned Parenthood Joins #BlackLivesMatter

By on 12.2.14 | 11:45AM

In 2012, according to the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Office of Vital Statistics more abortions were performed on black women in New York City than black children were born. As of 2008, according to Planned Parenthood's statistical arm, The Guttmacher Institute, only 36% of all abortions were performed on non-Hispanic white women. According to the pro-life group Live Action, in 2010, Planned Parenthood began the process of accepting donations from undercover investigators posting as willing funders, who requested the money specifically be directed to programs that followed Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger's original intent in providing family planning services: eliminating minority populations.

Will Obama’s $263 Million Police Body Camera Proposal Work?

By on 12.1.14 | 4:58PM

With everything else coming apart at the seams, President Obama continues his focus on Ferguson. Today, he announced a $263 million proposal to help fund 50,000 police body cameras which would be subject to congressional approval.

I suspect the incoming Republican Congress will go along with it. But I doubt they would prevent another Ferguson.

It is interesting though that the use of a police body camera was crucial in a grand jury clearing a Salt Lake City police officer named Bron Cruz (who is identified in this article as "non-white") for killing a 20-year old unarmed, white male named Dillon Taylor the same month Michael Brown was killed.

Mariners Add Nelson Cruz

By on 12.1.14 | 4:13PM

Outfielder/DH Nelson Cruz reportedly has a new home. Cruz signed a four year, $57 million contract with the Seattle Mariners.

In 2014, Cruz led the AL in HRs with 40 and drove in a career high 108 runs in his lone season with the Baltimore Orioles and was a crucial factor in their first AL East title since 1997. Prior to this season, Cruz had spent nearly his entire MLB career with the Texas Rangers playing with two AL pennant winning teams in 2010 and 2011 and earned the ALCS MVP in 2011. His tenure in Texas came to controversial end in 2013 when he was suspended for 50 games for his involvement in the Biogenesis scandal.

Let’s Criticize President Obama, Not His Daughters

By on 12.1.14 | 2:38PM

Elizabeth Lauten will be resigning as Tennessee Republican Congressman Steve Fincher's communications director following a Facebook post in which she took aim President Obama's daughters, Sasha & Malia who looked less than amused when present when their father pardoned a turkey on Thanksgiving Day.

Lauten admonished the Obama girls to show "a little class". She also wrote "Dress like you deserve respect, not a spot at a bar." She would subsequently delete the Facebook post and issue an apology, but it wasn't enough to save her job. I do suspect this wouldn't be the case if a Democratic congressional staffer had criticized the children of a Republican President in this manner. Nevertheless, I think Lauten did a foolish thing.

Why Obama Admin Won’t Put Turkey on State Dep’t Terrorism List

By on 12.1.14 | 9:14AM

I'm sure after Thanksgiving weekend, people are tired of turkey. But I think when it comes to U.S. foreign policy, Turkey should very much be on our minds.

Over at NRO, Daniel Pipes makes the case that the Obama Administration should considering desginating Turkey as a state sponsor of terrorism in light of intelligence from Israel indicating that Hamas has moved its foreign headquarters from Syria to Turkey.

New York Man Collecting Food for Soup Kitchen Dies in Carjacking

By on 11.30.14 | 12:09AM

      This is just awful:

A New York man who left his car running at a 7-Eleven store as he ran inside to collect food for a soup kitchen was run over by his own vehicle as he tried to stop a carjacker, police said. Dionel Ramirez, 69, left his Hyundai running with the door open outside a 7-Eleven in North Bay Shore on Long Island while he went inside to pick up the food, Suffolk County police said. He saw someone jump into his car and ran to stop him, but was run over, police said.

You can read the rest here.

Here is a man who immigrated here from Guatemala, made a better life for himself and his family and devoted himself to giving back to those less fortunate than himself.

Who do you think the media and the Left will shed more tears over? Michael Brown or Dionel Ramirez? Sadly, it isn't even close.
