New English Review Up and Running Again

I'm glad to report that New English Review, an Anglo-American monthly web journal devoted to politics and culture, is finally up and running again after being hit with a denial of service of attack in early June. The site's server was attacked after members of its editorial team spoke at an anti-Islamofascism rally in Manchester, Tennessee. To put things a bit more plainly, the site seems to have been attacked because of the editors' appearance at the rally. A knowledgeable source tells me that the attack was likely the work of a paid professional: free speech may be incompatible with certain interpretations of the Religion of Peace, but the cogs of commerce never stop turning, do they?

Anyway, as I said, the site is up and running again, and its July issue is now available. I heartily recommend both of Theodore Dalrymple's essays as well as Esmerelda Weatherwax's short piece on English pub signs. The Review has been around since 2006, and its past and present contributors include Dr. Dalrymple, John Derbyshire, the noted historian of Islam Ibn Warraq, and yours truly. Readers of The American Spectator will doubtless find something to enjoy.
