IRS Sent Conservative Group Info to Liberal Organization

By on 5.15.13 | 1:09AM

In a remarkable admission which seems designed to hurt the IRS while simultaneously trying to help the government's basic argument about why they were scrutinizing political groups who were applying for tax-exempt status, left-wing organization ProPublica revealed on Tuesday that they requested and received "applications or documentation for 31 [conservative] groups" from the IRS.

Further: "Nine of those applications had not yet been approved—meaning they were not supposed to be made public. (We made six of those public, after redacting their financial information, deeming that they were newsworthy.)"

How nice of the IRS to then tell ProPublica the equivalent "oops, we shouldn't have done that and we trust you will not disclose this stuff to the public."

Unbelievable

Jail time calls...(but for whom I will leave for you to opine).
