Earlier this evening the Weekly Standard reported that the Romney campaign was preparing to announce that Paul Ryan will be the vice presidential nominee -- in particular, that "Wisconsin governor Scott Walker is among a group of Republicans who has been asked to be ready, in terms of his schedule and other practical preparations, to make the case publicly for a Romney-Ryan ticket as early as Saturday." Not long after the Standard's story went up, it broke that Romney will announce his VP pick at 9 AM tomorrow in Norfolk, Virginia.
Now NBC News is reporting that the pick will be Ryan; Chuck Todd said on the air that this is based on three sources. Jon Ward at the Huffington Post hears the same from two sources. And ABC's Jonathan Karl reports that Rob Portman, Tim Pawlenty, and Marco Rubio have all been told that they are not the pick.
