Call it a Freudian slip.
In the very first sentence of this story about the turmoil in Egypt, where the Egyptian Supreme Court has just disbanded the parliament, is a very revealing first sentence. We have put the key thought in bold print.
CAIRO — They toppled a pharaoh, but now the small circle of liberals, leftists and Islamists who orchestrated Egypt's revolution say they realize they failed to uproot the networks of power that Hosni Mubarak nurtured for nearly three decades.
Catch that? The Arab Spring in Egypt, we are now told, was orchestrated by those natural allies:
"…liberals, leftists and Islamists…"
As Americans have re-learned yet again -- the hard way -- the most intolerant group in America is the Left…the Statists as Mark Levin calls them. The American heirs to Socialism, Marxism, rule by the iron fist -- legislatively (Obamacare) or literally (those Occupy Wall Street riots in the streets…the latest in decades of such behavior).
And what group shares these innate characteristics of the iron fist? That's right. Islamists -- Islamic fundamentalists. The people of the suicide bomb, the mindset of the Ft. Hood killer and the 9/11 atrocities.
In Egypt this translates to the Muslim Brotherhood.
How many conservatives have warned about this? How many shows has Sean Hannity spent on the Muslim Brotherhood? Warning of the simple naïveté of those who were dancing in the streets with fundamentally dangerous people? How many times have people like Rush Limbaugh and David Horowitz sounded the alarm bell? Plenty. Plenty. And plenty more.
But only now comes the New York Times, in a brief second of front page candor, to make it official: there is a natural alliance out there between "liberals, leftists and Islamists."
And don't for a second think it's limited to Egypt.
