The long national drama about where Peyton Manning is going to play football next season is about to be replaced by a similar obsession involving Tim Tebow: Manning is going to sign with the Denver Broncos, who in turn are going to try to trade Tebow. A few quick thoughts.
- As well as Tebow played last season in an offense designed around his unconventional quarterback skill set, a healthy Manning obviously improves any team he is on.
- Manning will face off against family rival Tom Brady in New England.
- The Broncos have a tough schedule.
- Alex Smith, now pursued by both the 49ers and the Dolphins, is suddenly sitting pretty.
As the NFL turns. I've said before that I've appreciated my home team's rivalry with Manning over the years.
