Last weekend at a downtown Philadelphia movie theater I witnessed some surprisingly enthusiastic applause for one of those Rachel-Maddow-in-a-hardhat MSNBC ads. You know, the ones wherein the prime time anchoress pines so passionately for the day when the American collective proletarian will can once again be channeled to Maddow-approved projects via central planning you'd think she spent all her spare time sitting by the phone waiting for Barack Obama to call her and say, "Time to give your notice, comrade. We need you on the cement mixer. For the nation." It's pretty ridiculous, and not all that consistent--you could as easily say, for example, "You can't be the guy who invaded Iraq. You can't even be the state that invaded Iraq. You have to be the country that invaded someplace like Iraq." So I was happy to see Mary Katherine Ham spoof it.
