I'm here at the Gaylord Harbor Hotel in Maryland, where Republican National Committee members are starting to file into the ballroom for the third day of its winter meeting, which Chairman Steele just called to order. Today's race for chairman won't be decided until later in the day, because there are other matters on the schedule, and the actual election is expected to take multiple ballots -- and most insiders say we won't really get a sense of how things are going until after the third ballot. To win, a candidate must collect 85 votes -- a majority of the 168 members.
I'll be providing updates throughout the day on this blog, and via twitter at: twitter.com/philipaklein
