Charlie Rangel Found Guilty on 11 of 13 Counts

By on 11.17.10 | 12:57PM

Last July, the House Ethics Committee charged Charlie Rangel with 13 violations of House ethics rules, ranging from using a personal residence as a campaign office to avoiding tax payments on a villa he owns in the Dominican Republic.

In a testament to the power of incumbency, he won re-election with 80 percent of the vote on November 2.

Yesterday, less than three weeks later, Rep. Rangel was found guilty on 11 of the 13 counts. His punishment will be determined in the coming weeks.
