It looks like former Sen. Dan Coats won the Republican nomination to make a run for his old seat. A groundswell of conservative support fueled a late Marlin Stutzman surge, but he and John Hostettler split the "anybody but Coats" vote. Based on the returns in so far, Stutzman looks like he is headed to a second-place finish, which could reduce some of the second-guessing and set him up for another statewide run down the road.
