The Dominican Republic defeated Team Netherlands 4-1 to advance to the final of the 2013 World Baseball Classic tomorrow night against Puerto Rico. The Dominicans scored all four runs in the fifth inning. The Netherlands, who had beaten the D.R. twice in the 2009 WBC, could not replicate that magic tonight. Dominican pitchers held Team Netherlands to four hits as Fernando Rodney celebrated his 36th birthday with a save.

Late in the game, there were seagulls on the field and flying into the view of the centerfield camera. It was quite annoying and I was nearly 3,000 miles away.

The undefeated Dominican team has beaten Puerto Rico twice in the WBC tournament. However, it is difficult to beat a team thrice in a row. So I’m not counting out Puerto Rico tomorrow night.

Did you notice that no one commented on your last article about this little league joke tournament. Don't waste time writing about this you and the MLB channel seem to be only ones who think this is a serious tournament.

When did the Dutch start playing baseball? That's a new one on me.
