The unemployment numbers for February are out.
And – shocker – the Obama Administration has failed to match
those from the same period of the Reagan Administration.
The Obama Administration, which numerous stories have described
as determined to “transform America” by overturning the Reagan
Revolution (as twice noted
here and here by liberal
columnist E.J. Dionne), can’t match Reagan’s record on jobs.
The numbers are:
Obama, February 2013, 5th year in
office: 7.7%
Reagan, February, 1985,
5th year in office: 7.2%
Since the president has made this one of his central goals for
his presidency, we are happy to oblige, and will from time to time
take note of the Obama-Reagan results.
Nothing like accountability, eh Mr. President?
Let the excuse-making begin.

In addition, I wonder what is the comparable total employed as a percentage of the population. As of last Sept. there were less total individuals employed under Obama then when he took office. Multitudes have left the labor force and have not yet reentered.
And what are the comparable percentages of government employment in the total employment picture? Government has grown like a weed under Obama.

If unemployment and inflation were figured by the same methodolgy as they were backin the 80s, the difference between Obama and Reagan would be far more stark. Our true unemployment these days is nearly 20% if those who have given up looking for work are counted and those who work part time but can't find full time work.
